ADO Audit Automation Engine

Automated rule validation engine cutting audit cycles by 80–90%

High-throughput rule validation engine replacing manual compliance checks, reducing audit cycle times from 4-5 hours to 10-15 minutes (Infosys Insta Award Winner).

Overview

Enterprise compliance and B2B integration platforms require continuous auditing of transactional milestone records across multiple downstream systems. Previously, engineers conducted these audits manually via multi-table queries, ad-hoc spreadsheets, and manual diffs—consuming 4 to 5 hours per verification cycle.

I engineered an automated, rule-based verification engine that slashed cycle turnaround by 80–90% to just 10–15 minutes, earning an Infosys Insta Award.

Technical Architecture

1. Rule Engine Pattern

Instead of hardcoding validation rules, the engine uses an extensible Strategy & Chain of Responsibility pattern:

  • Pre-execution Validator: Checks schema conformity, mandatory field presence, and timestamp ordering.
  • Contract Verifier: Ensures milestone payloads match TMF (TM Forum) specifications against 650+ downstream system configurations.
  • State Transition Guard: Verifies legal state machine progression (e.g. PENDING -> ACKNOWLEDGED -> COMPLETED).

2. High-Efficiency Batch Processing

  • Utilized Spring Batch with cursor-based reading to process tens of thousands of milestone records without memory exhaustion.
  • Leveraged Oracle stored procedures for set-based diff operations directly in the database engine, minimizing network roundtrips.

3. Business Impact & Reliability

  • 80–90% reduction in manual engineering hours.
  • Reduced human error and missed validation checks to zero.
  • Reusable CLI and scheduled daemon mode with automated HTML/Slack summary reporting.
